Wow. This was fun quick reading!
This is a collection of American urban legends written in a very easy manner (Especially for children).
The first half of the book contains folktales, scary spooky stories. The second half has spooky yet fun tails. The illustrations were the really scary part of these books. Kudos to Stephen Gammell for his incredible yet creepy artwork!
If you are a die-hard fan of super creepy horror books this is not the book you want to read. Remember that these stories are written for children!
Overall, “Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark” is a great short horror story collection that you can tell in the dark while scaring people during storytelling time! I would strongly recommend this book for children ages eight and up.
